Backwater Artists Group is delighted to present ‘Suffering In Silence”, the first solo exhibition by our Moving Image Bursary recipient for 2023, Mary O’Leary.
The exhibition explores the multifaceted themes of resilience and vulnerability in the face of adversity, through the medium of video and installation. It provides a thought-provoking examination of the delicate balance between projecting an exterior of strength and confronting inner vulnerabilities, all through the lens of O’Leary’s personal experiences and insights. Through the exploration of O’Leary’s personal struggles and her journey for self-understanding, the exhibition highlights the profound complexities inherent in navigating the human experience.
