National Drawing Day 2022: Drawing Demos For Young Artists
Dates: Thursday 19th, Friday 20th & Saturday 21st May 2022
As part of National Drawing Day this year, Backwater Artists Group asked some of our artists to give us some drawing tips for young artists. Over Thursday 19th and Friday 20th May, we’ll share a series of short artist-led demos to allow you to try out some drawing techniques yourself at home on our social media accounts. All you need is some basic supplies – most importantly a pencil.
We invited a special junior visitor into the studios to experiment with our tips – look out for her drawing adventures with us on Friday 20 May.
And as part of this series, we have a special online workshop on Self-Portraiture led by one of our artists Ciara Rodgers that we’ll share on National Drawing Day, Saturday 21st May 2022 on our website and on social media.
National Drawing Day is a national celebration of all things mark-making, with workshops and events happening across Ireland. National Drawing Day is supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
