Rose McGowan

Bio

Rose McGowan graduated in Fine Art from Crawford College of Art and Design in 1996. Her painting practice explores the interplay of landscape, memory and atmosphere.

Working intuitively, she allows each painting to evolve through the interplay of colour, gesture and form. Water, shifting light and the changing landscape recur throughout her work, not as literal descriptions of place, but as spaces where atmosphere, memory and feeling converge.

Her work is held in private collections throughout Ireland, the United Kingdom, France, Canada and the United States, and in public and corporate collections including Dublin City Council and Northern Trust.

She currently lives and works from her studio in Cork.
