Rose McGowan

Bio

Rose McGowan graduated with a degree in Fine Art from the Crawford College of Art and Design in 1996. Painting is central to her practice—an intuitive, process‑driven approach where form and colour guide each work toward its own resolution. Each painting becomes a kind of visual diary, holding traces of place, time, and emotional resonance.

Through her painting Rose is drawn to the ways landscape and water can absorb, echo, and transform emotional experience. This shapes her ongoing exploration of how the external world mirrors inner states, and how fleeting impressions can be held in paint.

Her work is represented in private collections across Ireland, the UK, France, Canada, and the United States. In Ireland, her paintings also form part of several corporate and public collections, including Dublin City Council and Northern Trust.

Rose is currently developing a new body of work from her studio in Cork.
