Eimearjean Mc Cormack, Lynn Marie Dennehy, Peter Nash, Hehir & Noonan
Studio 12 exhibition / project space, 1st Floor Backwater Artists Group, Wandesford Quay, Cork
30 July – 27 August.
Produced in collaboration with Cork Printmakers and curated in response to the 2021 Backwater curatorial theme of The Human Animal.
This exhibition examines aspects of the human form and the role of the artist in portraying issues around existence, culture and ecology. Collectively the artwork examines contemporary image-making in print, in the context of the historical journey of the human race from developing language to symbolism, to the eventual development of visual language and communication through contemporary art.
Cork Printmakers Gallery and Outreach Manager Maeve Lynch has selected Cork Printmakers members Eimearjean Mc Cormack, Lynn Marie Dennehy, Peter Nash and collaborators Catherine Hehir and Noelle Noonan to participate in the exhibition which will feature a variety of print mediums including etching, screenprint, digital print, cyanotype, sculpture and expanded print practice.
As part of an ongoing partnership with Backwater Artists Group, Cork Printmakers will contribute to the learning and engagement digital programme including an artists and curator’s talk and video documentation for remote viewing through the shared digital platforms of both organisations.
