Peer Critique Session
25 March | 6 – 7pm Online
This session offers a supportive space for artists to share work-in-progress and receive constructive, thoughtful feedback from fellow Backwater Artists Group members.
The crit is structured around four presenting artists. Each artist is allocated 20 minutes, including 10 minutes to introduce their work and 10 minutes for group feedback and discussion.
Crit sessions are informal yet focused conversations designed to support artistic development through dialogue, reflection and shared insight. Artists are encouraged to speak about their background, current practice and any specific areas where they are seeking feedback or direction.
The session will include:
• Short presentations by four artists (10 minutes each)
• Group feedback and discussion (10 minutes per artist)
• Open peer exchange and shared reflection
All participants are encouraged to stay for the full session and contribute to feedback, helping to foster a collaborative and supportive environment.
Presenting artists are asked to:
• Prepare 1–2 specific questions for feedback
• Share images or a short presentation of their work
• Indicate any areas of focus (materials, installation, concepts, direction)
Whether you are refining a new piece, reconsidering your approach, or simply looking for fresh perspective, these sessions prioritise support, dialogue and growth over judgement.
