Backwater Artists Group, Cork Printmakers and Lavit Gallery will open for two tours on Heritage Day. Each tour is divided in three parts. You will be led by representative from each of the organisations who now occupy the building. You will delve into the history of the building as part of Cork’s heritage story and learn about how the building has been adapted to become a home to Backwater Artists Group, Cork Printmakers and Lavit Gallery.

• Talk about how the building hosts three arts organisations, history of CP & BAG who moved into the building 1999. Lavit in 2018.

• Deirdre Breen placemaking mural & how it refers to the architecture the coins around the windows & red brick and virgin mary blue of windows and the flow of the river & creative flow)

• Visit the vaults which we understand would have contained fires to dry the grain in the floors above
