Indo-Persian Drawing
Attendees: 10-12 adults.
Date: Friday 13th June
Time: 12 noon – 13.40pm
Duration: 1 hour 30 mins with 10 min break included
Material will be supplied.
Participants will be able to complete one sketch/ drawing to take their homes on A4 size paper.
Workshop Description: “Capturing the Flowers and Birds from Paradise” introduces the fundamental methods and materials used in creating delicate drawings. This foundational knowledge is essential for mastering the intricate techniques of Indo-Persian traditional miniature painting.
Stage 1 : Preparing the paper: 30 minutes
- Introduction
- Joining the coloured paper with white paper to make wasli.
- Stretching the paper on board
- Preparing tea wash, Avocado wash on Paper
- Burnishing the paper
Stage 2: Drawing and transferring the Image: 30 minutes
- Tracing on butter paper
- Making a transfer paper
- Transferring
Stage 3: Ink Application / Drawing with Brush: 60 minutes
- Line practice with brush with Indian or Chinese ink.
- Line application with Brush
- Demonstration of 24 carat liquid gold line work
- Conclusion
