Elaine Coakley

“The Landscape is ever-present in my work, both real and imagined. I work in a variety of media to explore this subject including watercolour, oil and mixed media drawing. Within this, the dualities in nature, the interplay of light & dark and experimenting with different surfaces concern me. I work outside from life and also produce work in the studio, from memory, from photographs and from the imagination. The differences between these two working processes interests me further. My work is usually small in scale.”
