Bio

Pauline Keena is a full-time studio-based artist. She holds two Masters degrees in Fine Art. Her work often combines research, education and art practice.

Artist Statement

What interests me as an artist is the human form, the human subject in the body in terms of its physicality, its power, its chaos and interiority. I’m interested in those submerged texts, those narratives of self that exist beyond the reach of consciousness and speech, my work seeks to find a way to locate, make visible and articulate those narratives of self when we find ourselves at the boundary of our existence, as in serious/terminal illness.
