Statement
Fionnuala’s practice is grounded in abstract painting, which is driven by her intuitive use of paint and her love of mark making.
She creates large, multilayered paintings where she explores the relationship between impermanence and what it is to be human.
References to abstract expressionism and floral memento mori appear in the work which reflects on time, beauty and human fragility.
Her work is in the Irish State art Collection and has been shown in group shows across Ireland and the UK
