Artist Statement
Martirosyan’s practice is grounded in material transformation and process-led experimentation. She is drawn to substances that shift, decay or fragment, incorporating their unpredictable behaviours as active collaborators in the making. Through heat, corrosion and compression, material stress becomes a way of navigating tensions between collapse and renewal, control and disorder, presence and erasure. Across her projects, entropy and erosion operate as forces capable of revealing personal, cultural and political narratives.
