In her practice, Nagle confronts the blankness of the object, highlighting both its familiar, anthropomorphic aspects and its paradoxically estranging, alien dimensions. Through photography, installation and collage she creates monuments to observed things, and seeks to make their inevitable strangeness apparent. The work occupies an overlapping space between a tactile, material encounter and a philosophy of finitude. Her recent work is underpinned by a desire to examine and capture, through the indexical medium of analogue photography, the moments of intensity that define our encounters with objects and the world around us.
