Carol Healy

Artist Bio

Carol Healy is a visual artist based in Cork city. She graduated from Crawford College of Art & Design in 2015. Healy has exhibited nationally and internationally. She is a member of Visual Arts Ireland, and member of the Backwater Network since 2025.  She has been involved in arts education in primary and secondary schools along with facilitating drawing workshops for adults and peers since 2017.  

Statement

Working primarily with coloured pencil on paper, Healy creates a visual meditation on how personal history and physical landscape intertwine.  The body serves as her primary source and template, offering an intimate starting point to explore memory and identity.

Through drawing, she explores how memory and landscape intersect, shifting and settling over time. Her dense, textured fields of colour are built through repetitive, deliberate mark-making. Within these works, every line represents a distinct moment, accumulating into larger, fluid topographies that map out emotional terrain.
