The Future Is Not Necessarily Set In Stone | Peter Nash. Opening reception and artist talk. 22nd October 2019, 6pm. Exhibition also open 23–25 Oct, 10am – 5pm. Film screening of stop motion animation (10 min) and exhibition of puppets complete with their props and sets. This work is a continuation of artist Peter Nash’s ongoing research into pre-internet sources of knowledge and methods of communication. By embracing a deliberately hand-made aesthetic and drawing on influences including 1970s & 80s children’s television programmes, fairy tales, half-remembered stories and museum visits he seeks to provide a visual counterpoint to the computer generated imagery and plastic sheen that dominate the current era.

Kingdom | Sarah Long. 13.09.19 – 11.10.19Sarah Long is a recent graduate of CIT Crawford College of Art & Design and the 2018 recipient of the Ciarán Langford Memorial Bursary from Backwater Artist Group. For her “the landscape as an art medium, in both visual art and literature is emblematic of human activity. In Ireland, especially, the idea of a national identity is rooted in the land and landscape”.
